 Irina Makeva, 70kg is the GREATEST armwrestler in
 the world irrespective of weight category. She won
 World Challenge in 2009. This super lady from Russia
 has been training armwrestling for nine years and
 she has won the World Champion title 10 TIMES

- Is there any armwrestler in the world that you want to armwrestle against? Have you armwrestled with Gonul from Turkey?
No, I have never armwrestlered with Gonul from Turkey, but I want to try her.

- What is your favourite exersice?


I train all muscles in my hand,
I don't have any favourite.


- Why did you start with armwrestling?


I started to pratice the sport when I was only five. My first sport was gymnastic. During that time my sister was training armwrestling and once she brought me to the sport club, I trained there and loved armwrestling. Since then I have been training armwrestling!

- Have you got any brothers or sisters?
Do they compete?
Yes I have a brother, he is 15 years and a sister, she is 28 years old, her name is Kristina. She placed second at the European Championship in Bulguria,1996. My sister praticed armwrestling for 15 years and my brother now wants to try armwrestling. He is very strong!

  - What do you work with?
  In 2009 I finished University with a red diploma and now I working at the 
  Vladicavcaz parlament as a consultant.
 
   - Will you compete at the European Championship and
  the World Championship in 2010?
   Yes I will go at both of them.

- How many armwrestling ladies do you have in Russia?
Many girls in Russia pratice the sport, around 100 maybe.

 
- Have you armwrestled against men at competitions in Russia? (In Sweden Heidi Andersson and Malin Kleinsmith sometimes compete in men's category -65kg and they have both placed well)
No, we don't  have competitions against men in Russia. We compete against men only during practise.
